Use of a peat-based biofilter to reduce odour emissions from pig manure is discussed. At an air flow of 540 msuperscript 3/h, a 5.8 msuperscript 3 pilot biofilter absorbed 554 g of NH3 per day, giving an av. 86.1% purification efficiency. For an air flow of 710 msuperscript 3/h, the efficiency was 86.8%.
